Let’s build something great together!

I help organizations learn from and unleash the creativity of people, foster inclusive teams, and am powered by matcha and laughter.

As Senior Manager of UX Research at Teladoc Health, I lead a high-performing team in expanding access to virtual health services that support the well-being of millions and deliver care through new mediums.

Previously, as a Strategy Director at Artefact, I led multidisciplinary teams in tackling systemic challenges through a human lens - from scaling the practice of human-centered research and design across digital health products and systems to supporting efforts to prevent vision loss. Before that, I co-led UX research for a product portfolio at IBM and studied cognitive psychology and conducted social science experiments in virtual reality at Stanford University.

Guiding Principles

Learn by engaging

Through my psychological training, I discovered that active participation is the best way for any person or team to learn.

I've been privileged to share with and learn from others by facilitating workshops and instructional sessions with ~1500 folks in my career, ranging from communities of use, to designers, to product managers and engineers, to executives.

During my time at IBM, the organization’s design education initiatives were recognized by Core 77 and I was grateful to receive positive feedback from participants:

"You're an excellent moderator - you did a great job of helping our project along."

Build relationships to advance inclusion

I've learned that inclusion only grows when action is taken on multiple fronts: at an individual, product, and cultural level.

On a personal level, I work hard to collaborate and build strong relationships and trust with team members and communities of use.

I've also been honored to advise the City of Seattle on equitable engagement practices as a Community Involvement Commissioner and speak and write on product inclusion in forums including Seattle Interactive Conference and Harvard Business Review.

Focus on people for sustainable, positive outcomes

Whether envisioning the future of transit or researching the effects of sexism and gender on learning in immersive virtual reality spaces, I've learned that despite teams' best intentions, technology solutions can cause harm.

Continuously immersing in human experiences and feedback and creating space for communities of use in product decision-making processes have been helpful antidotes.
